Salon facials for mature skin: a revitalising mask and vitamin support

Quick answer
A treatment for mature skin can be planned with gentle cleansing, mild exfoliation, a cream mask with vitamins and a revitalising & renewing alginate mask. Intensive moisturising and sun protection are essential parts of the treatment.
Changing needs of mature skin
With age, the skin becomes drier, thinner and less elastic, and renewal slows down. That is why care for mature skin is built on moisture, nourishing ingredients and gentle renewal rather than harsh exfoliation.
Recommended treatment flow
- Cleansing: gentle cleansing with cleansing milk.
- Toner
- Cream mask: the vitamin complex cream mask (for all skin types) is applied in a thin layer to the cleansed face, neck and décolleté and rinsed off with lukewarm water after 10–15 minutes. It contains vitamin K2, provitamin B5, a vitamin C derivative, vitamin E and peptides.
- Alginate mask: revitalising & renewing peel-off alginate mask (for mature skin); it contains sea buckthorn seed extract and gluconolactone.
- Finish: moisturising cream and sunscreen.

Managing client expectations
Cosmetic treatments help the skin look more hydrated, smooth and radiant; promises such as "erasing" wrinkles, however, are not realistic. Explaining the importance of regular treatments and sun protection at home increases long-term satisfaction.
Frequently asked questions
How often is an alginate mask applied to mature skin?
It is usually applied at the end of each salon treatment; the interval between sessions depends on the client's needs.
Can the vitamin complex cream mask be used at home?
As it comes in a 500 ml salon size, it is intended for professional use.
Is sunscreen a must for mature skin?
Yes. The sun is a major factor in visible signs of skin ageing; daily sun protection is recommended at every age.
