Cleansing
Do you need a toner? How to use toner correctly

Quick answer
Toner is not an essential step, but it is a practical helper for removing residue after cleansing and preparing the skin for the next products. You can mist a spray toner on your face and let it dry, or apply it to a cotton pad to wipe away make-up residue.
What does toner do?
Toners used to be high-alcohol products that tightened the skin and removed residue left by soap. Today most toners focus on moisture and care: they refresh the skin after cleansing, remove traces of make-up and dirt, and leave a light layer of moisture before serum and cream.
How to use it
Croen Moisturising & Purifying Toner has a spray nozzle and can be used in two ways:
- For care: Mist onto cleansed skin from 20–30 cm and let it dry without rinsing.
- For cleansing: Mist the toner onto your face, spread it with circular movements, then wipe with a cotton pad to remove remaining make-up and dirt.
The formula contains hyaluronic acid, cherry blossom (Prunus lannesiana) extract and provitamin B5. It is suitable for daily use.
Who should be careful?
Some toners contain alcohol for fast drying and a fresh feel. Croen Toner also contains alcohol. If your skin is very dry or easily irritated, test the toner on a small area first, use it as a mist rather than rubbing with a cotton pad, and always follow with moisturiser.
Toner in the salon
In professional skin treatments, toner prepares the skin between cleansing and a peel, mask or device treatment. Croen Toner is also available in a 500 ml salon size for professional use.
Frequently asked questions
Should toner be used in the morning or evening?
Both. Using it in the evening after removing make-up is when it helps most.
Do you wash your face after toner?
Not when used for care; the toner is left to dry without rinsing.
Can thermal water replace toner?
Thermal water is refreshing but has no cleansing effect. Toner is better for removing make-up and dirt residue.
